Stichionary Review

So I traded in my Knitting Never Felt Better for the Stitchionary Volume One: Knit & Purl and I can now say that this is the number one book that every knitter should own!

There are great sitch ideas to dress up your bland scarf, make a little change purse, or whatnot. It is definately $30 well spent for anyone.

***** five stars

TA-DA

The Minimalist Cardigan is FINISHED! Yay! It turned out beautifully, I'm very excited. I did shorten the sleeves by about two inches due to both yarn conservation and the fact that I have short arms. Also, the sleeves are meant to be a bit baggy so if you have thin arms like me, or thin lower arms, I would also suggest shortening the length. Here are a few photos. Per usual, forgive the quality, the husband snapped the one of me before I was ready.

Pattern: Minimalist Cardigan
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk DK
Amount Used: 6.8 balls
Color: Magenta
Needle Size: US 7
Time Knitted: About a month

On another note I have begun the husband's scarf (booooring), it's a simple cable from Lion Brand's website. It's called, something first cable scarf. I found it on a boy's ravelry and thought that it looked manly enough. This photo is terrible it doesn't at all pull out the cabling, hopefully I'll be able to get a better photo later!

SWAGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

I've got swag of all kinds. Yes, since yesterday.
First the husband swag (aside: bloggers have names for their husbands and I don't have one, my apologies), so yesterday my husband called me half way through the day and completely unprovoked started b*tch*ng at me. He apparently knew that he was in the wrong and he showed up at home with beautiful pink Lillie's. I'm not sure what happened with my camera when I took these, but they are really fabulous.

Next, the post man brought me SP swag. Spoiler, I must commend you on your impressive packing skills. I tried to reconstruct the box after I opened it to share with everyone what I saw when I opened the package, but I sure didn't get it back together as well as you had it. However...boy did I ever get the most wonderful stuff. The husband has not only commandeered, but consumed the dark chocolate. All of it was so fun and fabulous, but as any true knitter, I must say that I am most excited about the yarn. It is SWTC Soy Wool, in a really beautiful pink/taupe colorway, I've read about this blend and wanted to use it, but never got the chance. THANK YOU! You're the best! I can't wait to finally make myself something with the beads too, you got me!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

The last of my swag is from my boss. They just got back today from Florida and my boss bought me Knitting Never Felt Better. Which in all reality is such a sweet gesture, however I don't felt...I sort of don't believe in it...knitting something to shrink it? I don't think so...so, I'll report next week what I exchanged it for, but I really am greatly appreciative!

And So It Goes...

I have so much to say and so little energy to say it. I'll start with my minimalist cardigan project. These are the sleeves...yes I have come this far. The pattern says to go 12.5 inchest until you begin the decreases for the shoulder, however I am only going 10 inches due to yarn allotment. I have enough I believe, but I'm doing two sleeves at once with two balls and I'd have to break up part of a third ball to continue and that's a bit more work than I'm willing to give it. I'm hoping to get done later this week. Thursday night is a TV night so I should get a good bit of knitting done then ;).

Next...I'm going to attempt a short version of my three day rant. I went in to get my hair layered up and evened out...the hair dresser decided that she was going to instead cut out all of my layers and go against everything I said about not loosing length and now I'm quite plain looking with all one length shoulder length hair. I lost about four and a half to five inches and I didn't want to loose any. I'm UBER upset.

Lastly I took a trek to the LYS today for my SP11. Note that everything is a trek for me. Anyway, I got goodies for her, which I'm not going to reveal in the case that she accidentally finds me...however I practiced a decent amount of restraint and only bought myself one skein of this beautiful stuff. This photo is terrible, but this link is a good photo of the colorway. I couldn't resist, I really wanted more, but I couldn't think of what I was going to use it on, soooo I'm starting with one hank and if I must have more for another project then so be it!
